The Team is a cinema verite documentary. It features the homeless soccer team from New York City who travel and compete at the 1st Annual Homeless Soccer World Cup being held in Graz, Austria in July 2003.

Teams from 18 nations are hoping to compete in the 4-a-side football tournament. The USA team is being recruited by two brothers who publish a street newspaper and run a homeless shelter.
